In an RC plane, there is only one major moving part and that is the spinning propeller. Believe it or not, somehow or the other, just in case any of your body part was caught in it while it is spinning, it will always be hurtful. Just how much damage it could cause would largely depend on how heavy the blades are, how sharp its edges, how fast it is spinning and how powerful its motors within. A small one can barely scratch while a big one could truly kill somebody and so, it is important that one must do something in order to minimize the risk especially if they work near the plane.

One way of doing this is to paint the tip of the RC plane propeller with any visible bright color in order that you have in some way a means of knowing where the ends are while it is spinning. In reality, it is really difficult to distinguish the safety zone when it is spinning so rapidly because you can’t really see it as it blends with its surroundings. You are not limited to paint, and if you want you can also affix a glowing LED on it since lights are much easier to notice and are useful in a low light environments.

And when the RC plane was still on ground and you are planning on starting it up, make sure that you use a chock on its wheels so that it wouldn’t move forward unnecessarily and once you are sure that everything on its path is okay then you can let it go and fly away.

Above anything else, choosing a safe ground to fly an RC plane would always be the ultimate goal because it is a hobby to enjoy and not a hobby full of issues and problems. And although it might seem reasonable to fly it at the nearby park or at any vacant lot, the truth is, it is not highly recommended because there would always be other people around. You have to keep this in mind always as each state in the country has its own rules and regulations regarding this stuff and it is best that you check it out in order to learn and know where else you can safely fly one.

If you are truly serious in flying an RC plane, then it is always a good idea to get a membership at your local RC club. Joining a good RC club would certainly entitle you a lot of benefits and one of such benefits is having a good place to fly your plane. Often times, there is a separation of field between the pilot and where the plane operate and this is usually done in order to reduce the risks of any accident that could possibly happen in case a plane crashed on an unintended spot.

So, just in case that you really want to fly a plane anytime you want but you don’t fancy the inconvenience of going to the club then it would be wise if you get a small electric RC plane since there are some models that can be safely flown indoor and in truth, that is just perfect for your needs.

If you’ve a slight interest in flying an RC plane then it is highly suggested that you do your own research first by reading various publications such as books and magazines regarding R/C hobby or by watching videos that are available on the Internet in order to orient yourself of what would the things to expect later on. Also, before you try and attempt to fly a real thing, it would be great if you get your hands first on many R/C flight simulators that exist out there to have some great experience without destroying many planes.

Also, should you want to learn faster and to fly with more confidence, it is best if you get your own instructor to teach you the fundamentals and even some techniques that would surely help down the road once you decide to play solo later on. You can easily find an experienced instructor by asking your friends or asking someone on a flying club and ask for their recommendation. In case your instructor has a trainer system, it would be wise to get one for yourself too as it would minimize the risk of you controlling the RC plane in a way that you wouldn’t want to.

Once you have the idea, you can now choose between the different engine for your chosen RC plane and you have the option between 2-strokes, 4-strokes engine or you might as well as prefer the electric variety as it would be the silent of all types.

In getting your very own RC plane, there would usually be various things to think about in order that you will be able to have the precise model of the plane that would be based more on the specifications that you prefer.

The cost, would initially on the list since each of us would very likely to have our different limitations on financial capacity and therefore, not everybody could buy the most expensive RC plane on the planet even though they really want it. The actual price range of radio-controlled plane would probably from a hundred up to a few thousands and what you choose will all depend on you though you have to remember that most beginner planes are likely to be in the range of 200-300 dollars.

Next thing is how fast, what would be speed capability you would like for your plane since some could fly at around 30 mph while others could go beyond up to 250 mph and you should based your choice on whether you could be able to handle such speeds and so, if you are just starting out, it would be wise to go for a trainer speed range.

Next is how far, well, as most operate on certain radio frequencies, the distance are likely be a mile though you have to keep in mind that even the largest plane would look like a dirt at a certain distance.

Lastly, don’t be worried should your RC plane runs out of fuel while still enjoying its flights above as you could still be able to guide it towards a more safe landing site since its radio system usually have its own power.

A beginner’s RC plane as others call it, are more commonly referred to as ready to fly (RTF) and it also include almost ready to fly (ATF) models wherein these types of plane models are fully assembled that typically requires few arrangements in order to make it usable on the field. And when we say few arrangements, that usually means, opening its battery cover then putting on a fresh new battery and closing it up and then turning it on. Really! You don’t have to know how each parts works though that will truly be helpful, and with just a push and slide of some buttons, the plane would then be hovering across the skies before you even notice your shirt are now sweating up due to excitement.

Most of these sort of RC plane are typically slow in speed in a way that it gives you enough leeway to control it back in case it goes out of control and therefore, be able to make a correction on its direction before it went crashing someplace. Also, due to its size, which are basically limited in order to keep its price low, it is then suitable for flying in a park or even on your backyard should you have a rather sizable backyard to play with.

Remember that almost all of RC plane models usually come with a flight simulator that are truly handy in educating any beginners regarding the basics of radio controls and it is at the cost of saving the plane for its first crash.

It can’t really be denied that flying a RC plane are one of the fastest growing hobbies nowadays as evident by the numbers of enthusiasts that keep on having fun with their plane whenever they have the chance. Along with this is that, anybody could really become a pilot of their own plane as the physics behind it are truly easy to learn and in actuality, be able to fly it in a fun way would only requires a few tries and diligent practice. There are many reasons why one should try flying a radio-controlled plane whenever possible and the most obvious of these is that it is really fun and exciting.

In order to gear up your skills and knowledge in flying a RC plane, one of the most effective way aside from practicing all day long is to browse and read some books and magazines with regards to radio controlled stuffs particularly those who are more focused on the plane. You can find those good books and publications on your nearest hobby shops and in case you don’t find one that interest you, you can always check some books online and have the luxury of sifting thru a variety of choices.

Lastly, apart from reading books and practicing by yourself, it would be wise if you join a club that are related on this hobby in order that you meet more people who have the same passion as you and tips you can learn from them are truly priceless, as it was updated and more based on flying with actual RC plane.

You can’t help but notice that stunning finish of a RC planes once it lands since it has a glossy and smooth appearance. Covering is important if you are one of those serious hobbyists who want to protect their precious planes. No matter what kind of material and paint you use for your plane, sun’s radiation will slowly but definitely cause it to be deformed in such a way that it makes the appearance of your plane looked so old. There are lots of coverings brands and just choose one if you are interested to apply it on your plane.

Also, each brand has its unique properties and they respond at usually different temperatures. It is typically recommended that you apply the covering on RC plane at approximately 200 °F since its inherent adhesives formula starts to take its effect at this temperature. With the adhesives starts to function, it would secure the covering on the surface more thoroughly so that it wouldn’t easily flake. One thing to note is that let the heat manage the whole covering and don’t apply any pressure as this doesn’t really do any good.

At around 300 °F temperature, it will begin to shrink and this would be the perfect opportunity to smoothen out any air that get trapped in-between and fixing up any wrinkles that happen to form. Be careful though around seams and edge linings since at this temperature, the adhesive power is no longer in effect and it could cause it to pull away.

Since the last decades or so, radio controlled airplane has become one of the most popular hobby around the world. With the advent of latest technologies, it became more accessible for almost anyone who might be interested in flying miniature planes. Because of its increasing popularity, more and more types emerged. Each of these types has its advantages and disadvantages, purpose and application.
A beginner’s rc plane is best suited for you if this would be your first time flying a radio-controlled gadget. They were usually “high-wing” type, which means they are slower, stable and forgiving for your controls. You don’t have much control except for basic maneuvers but you will be able to experience the exhilaration of flying small machines like them. Popular brands are Super Cub LP and Champ, rechargeable batteries power both of them and usually affordable at your local rc stores.

So, you have just bought an RC plane. Well, like thousands of other RC plane enthusiasts all over the world, you can get them in different sizes, shapes and varieties. You can get them at your friendly neighbourhood toyshop, you can get them online, and you can even borrow one from your best friend. RC planes are among the most popular of hobbies, going out there. But before you send your RC plane gliding on the wind, you would want to know more about pre-check inspections.

A complete RC plane check up is going to consist of a pre-flight inspection. So okay, you have checked your plane at home. You may want to do the same, before the flight takes off. That means that you are going to make sure that your plane is balanced with the wings and detail aligned properly. The bolts, the screws and the nuts need to be tightened. The connections have to be secure. The battery has to be charged completely. If you are using a remote control, you would also want to look at the remote control batteries for charging. In the same manner, all the control surfaces should be moving properly. And how is your transmitter signal working. Is it strong enough to fly your plane within the normal range and limits?

One important point — if there are a number of pilots flying in the same range, make sure that your radio frequency is different from theirs. A similar radio frequency can cause his plane to crash. However, this is not a problem if you are using a radio system of 2.4 GHz frequency. This occurs only when you are using narrowband RC plane frequencies.
